The GMC Sierra 1500 Classic pickup was offered for the 2007 model year only as a rebadged continuation of the previous generation Sierra 1500 truck. The reason for the name change? A redesigned Sierra 1500 model was also introduced in 2007. Offered in Regular, Crew, or Extended cab bodies, the truck drew power from a variety of V6 and V8 gas engines, as well as a V8 hybrid option. Gear changes were managed through either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.
The truck was available in base, SL, SLE1, SLE2, SLT, and Denali trim levels, with standard features on the SL model that included cruise control, air conditioning, and a CD player. Available options included 20-inch chrome wheels, StabiliTrak stability management program, and the OnStar communications system.
