The Chevrolet K2500 Pickup was a full-size truck offered for the 1998 through 2000 model years. Built on what was then a new GMT400 platform, the pickup was informally known as the "OBS," or Old Body Style. The three-quarter ton truck was among the first to offer a front axle with independent front suspension.
The "K" denoted that the truck was equipped with all-wheel drive, while 2500 designated the truck's weight. In 1999, Chevrolet renamed the truck the Silverado Classic, with production ceasing after 2000 when the Chevy Silverado line was introduced in full.
