The Chevrolet R20 pickup truck was sold for the 1987 and 1988 model years, replacing the three-quarter ton C20 model that preceded it in the lineup. Built on the then-new GMT400 chassis as part of the Rounded-Line series of trucks, the pickup could be powered by 5.7-liter or 7.4-liter V8 gas engines, or a 6.2-liter diesel V8 powerplant. Gear changes were controlled by either a three- or four-speed automatic transmission, or a four-speed manual. Two of the more popular and trim levels were the Scottsdale and the Silverado.
