The Chevrolet Suburban R10 full-size SUV was available for the 1987 and 1988 model years, as part of the model's seventh generation. The name was changed from the C10 to avoid confusion with a new, GMT400 platform-based pickup introduced in 1987 that also used the C nomenclature. The "R" in the name indicated that the truck was two-wheel drive, while the 10 marked it as a half-ton truck.
The four-door SUV offered V8 gas and diesel engines that were mated to an automatic transmission. Available trim levels included Scottsdale and Silverado, and the SUV included such features as air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, a CD player, and much more.
