The Chevrolet Suburban R1500 full-size SUV was available for the 1989, 1990, and 1991 model years, serving as one of the final seventh generation versions of the long-running SUV. A follow-up to the previous Suburban R10, this SUV featured two-wheel drive and sat on a half-ton chassis.
The SUV was available with either gas or diesel V8 engines and four-speed automatic transmissions. In 1990, rear-wheel anti-lock brakes were added. Available features included a CD player, as well as third-row seating that expanded passenger capacity to nine people.
