The GMC Jimmy S15 line of compact SUVs was available between 1984 and 1991. They were light utility vehicles based on the GMC S-15 pickup truck. Base, Gypsy, and Sierra Classic trims were offered early on; a High Sierra trim was available in 1985, as was a Timberline trim in 1988. In 1991, trims ranged from SLE and SLS to SLT.
The model had a choice four-cylinder and V6 engines, and four-wheel drive (4WD) was available. Features included a sport suspension and an off-road package with Bilstein shocks, skid plates, tow hooks, and more. GMC began referring to Jimmy without the S15 from 1992 on.
